Who we are

Standard Consulting Ltd is a data controller registered in England and Wales. We provide strategic consulting and AI-powered intelligence tools for UK law firms. You can contact us at david@standardconsulting.co.uk or by post at our registered address in Bingham, Nottinghamshire.

What data we collect

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We do not collect any special category personal data through this website. We use no advertising cookies, and we do not profile you. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them, and the next section names every item this site stores.

Cookies and analytics

This site stores nothing on your device for analytics until you accept it. When you first visit you are asked once, and declining is a single click, as is changing your mind later through the Cookie settings link at the foot of any page.

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets two cookies on this domain, _ga and _ga_X5C7N6R2SL, both lasting two years, which count visits and show which pages are read. Google Ireland Limited processes that data on our behalf. If you decline, neither cookie is set and no request is made to Google Analytics at all.

Either way we store one item in your browser's local storage, sc-consent, holding your choice and the date you made it. It exists only to honour that choice, so it is not something you can be asked to consent to, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Our typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page sends your IP address to nobody but us and our host. We use no other third-party scripts, no advertising or social media pixels, and no session recording.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest (responding to a direct enquiry you have initiated). We will not use your details for unsolicited marketing without your explicit consent.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry data is retained for no longer than 24 months from the date of your last contact with us. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, or to make a complaint, please contact us at david@standardconsulting.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Third parties

When you submit the contact form, your message is delivered via SendGrid (Twilio Inc., USA), which processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. This website is hosted on Vercel (USA), which also processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. Both processors are bound by Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers. We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties for their own purposes.
